Bloom Café

Bloom Café

The restaurant is located at the end of Holland Street, and the site is 4 hectares in size, so there is plenty of parking nearby. The Torrens River bike trail runs through Bloom. Another reason to stop by the next time you go for a bike ride. There is an alfresco dining area on the outside. Bloom’s interior is the space’s crown jewel. We had the impression that we had been teleported to Scandinavia as a result of the transformation. On one end of the restaurant, there is a standalone bar where you can sit and watch the bartenders make your favorite drinks, while on the other end, there is a wood-fired pizza oven. An outdoor function space is also available for hire.

Bloom is a restaurant and event space run by the Peter Rabbit crew.

In this design, wood takes center stage. Natural color tones and textures abound in the Sans-Arc Studio’s fit-out (complete with signature arches): think woods, stucco walls, stone floors, and leather seats. It’s clear that the space was created with the local environment in mind. The back of the building, which was once a tram barn, opens to a pavilion with views of the River Torrens and surrounding gum trees, and the ceiling has been painted a eucalyptus-like shade of green. Large events, such as weddings, can be held in the outdoor function space.

The all-day menu is influenced by a variety of cultures, including Japanese (chicken-and-miso ramen with house-made wholemeal noodles, spicy beef mince, poached – rather than boiled – egg, corn, spring onion, daikon kimchi, nori, and black garlic oil) and Thai (charcoal chicken with basmati, yellow curry yogurt, and garden herbs) (house-made pasta with slow-braised beef-cheek).

It’s not just for show that a large, dome-shaped hearth exists. Wood-roasted halloumi with pine nuts, honey, sumac, and thyme; fire-roasted strawberries with macadamia and dark chocolate granola, house-made almond milk, and sweet almond meal; and wood-roasted pumpkin with spelt, shiitake, almond ricotta, radish salsa verde, and smoked almond
